Jonathan is a member of the Investment Team, the Chief Financial Officer, and a Senior Partner at 18 Somerset Capital Management, LLC. He is one of four founding members of the firm.

Prior to him joining 18 Somerset, Jonathan helped build Home Plate Acquisition Corp. At Home Plate, Jonathan was the Chief Financial Officer as well as a key contributor to the deal sourcing and execution effort. He has met with and evaluated over 90 private companies as potential acquisition targets, largely in the Fintech and Embedded Finance sectors.

During 2022, Jonathan also served as a Senior Advisor to Eden Global Partners. Eden is a private investment firm focused on delivering permanent capital to founders. Jonathan assisted in the early stages of Eden’s strategic evolution by helping establish core processes utilized by the investment team.

Prior to Jonathan’s recent endeavors, he had a successful career at Citigroup. From 2007-2020, he served as a Managing Director and the sole business Head for Equity Research in the United States and Latin America. In this role, he formulated and executed the Department’s business strategy; recruited, developed, coached, and trained talent; and oversaw performance. Jonathan fostered relationships with core institutional clients, worked with senior counterparts in Equities and Capital Markets, and helped guide Citi’s thought leadership brand to the next level.

Jonathan played an important role in the investment process for Citi Research. He evaluated analyst initiations of new company coverage and their proposed rating changes for existing stocks, steered the team’s framework for fundamental investment analysis, and implemented initiatives to broaden the department’s impact in both public and private companies.

Jonathan’s expertise in financial industry technology is why he is such an important member of the 18 Somerset founding team. His focus and dedication are second to none.
